Joseph Farms is one of the most respected cheesemakers in North America. The Safe Quality Food (SQF) Program is a rigorous and credible food safety and quality program that is recognized by retailers, brand owners, and food service providers world-wide. Recognized by the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI), the SQF family of food safety and quality codes are designed to meet industry, customer, and regulatory requirements for all sectors of the food supply chain.

National Dairy Farmers Assuring Responsible Management (FARM)

Consumers today are more interested than ever before in their food: how it’s produced, its safety and wholesomeness, who’s producing it, how animals are treated and the impact on our planet. The National Dairy FARM Program provides them assurances that U.S. dairy farmers are doing what’s right.

Real California Milk

Joseph Farms is proud to be certified by the California Milk Advisory Board. People are changing the way they eat. One of the biggest values that the California Milk Advisory Board holds is emphasis on non or minimally processed foods. They don’t believe in overly complicated; they believe in real food made by real families. So do we.


Some companies don’t care, others say they care and don’t use milk from cows injected with rBST. But, they do use milk from cows injected with other artificial hormones. We do not use milk from cows treated with any artificial hormones.” – Mike Gallo, CEO

USDA Certified organic

USDA’s National Organic Program integrates cultural, biological, and mechanical practices that foster cycling of resources, promote ecological balance, and conserve biodiversity. Synthetic fertilizers, sewage sludge, irradiation, and genetic engineering may not be used. Farmers and businesses must follow USDA standards to have their products labeled and sold as certified organic.

Established in 1974, Oregon Tilth is a leading nonprofit organic certifier in the United States. Oregon Tilth Certified Organic (OTCO) uses time-tested expertise about the certification process to give clients and consumers assurance an organic product is as advertised. 

Non GMO Project Verified

The Non-GMO Project is a mission-driven nonprofit organization dedicated to building and protecting a non-GMO food supply. The Non-GMO Project Standard is a consensus-based document crafted with the insight from dozens of industry experts, reflecting a dynamic range of perspectives. In a world of shifting and quickly developed technologies, the Standard remains current and collaborative through ongoing public comment periods.
